American center Marc Montavious (206-1990, college: Georgetown, KY) contributed with 24 points, 12 rebounds and 4 blocks for the winners. San Salvador's coach used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. San Salvador have an impressive series of nineteen victories in a row. They maintain first place with 19-1 record. Nejapa lost thirteenth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with 15 games lost. San Salvador will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Nejapa will play on the road against Santa Ana (#8) and is hoping to prove to their supporters that they can break losing series.
The game between fourth ranked Aguila (13-5) and 9th ranked Cojute (4-15) in San Miguel ended with biggest points difference. Aguila outscored guests from Cojutepeque 98-66. Guard Bryan Garcia (168-1997) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) for the winners and Darryl Palmer chipped in 14 points and 11 rebounds. At the losing side American swingman Andravious Smith (196-1995, college: Tougaloo) responded with a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!) and 13 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the seventh consecutive win for Aguila. They maintain fourth place with 13-5 record. Cojute lost their third game in a row. They keep the ninth position with 15 games lost. They share it with Chalchuapa. Aguila will play against Chalchuapa (#9) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game.
